Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante has revealed he is enjoying in his new role under Maurizio Sarri.
The Frenchman has made a name for himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in the world, but was shifted into a more advance position by Sarri who prefers the more technical Jorginho in his deeper midfield role.

Jorginho’s defensive weaknesses have left some to criticise Sarri’s decision, with others adding Kante’s lack of conviction going forward as another problem.
The Frenchman has upped his game as the season has gone on, scoring four and recording four assists in all competitions including two assists in Chelsea’s recent 5-0 win over Huddersfield Town.
But Kante is not getting ahead of himself, admitting there is still work to be done to fulfil Sarri’s goals.
He told Chelsea’s official website: “I think I played some good and not so good games, but the most important thing is to play as a team, to complement our team-mates, to be organised and work together.
“I think in training we prepare the game in the best way and we need to reproduce that in the games.

“I think I have improved some aspects of my style of play, to play for combinations with my team-mates, to try to find the best passes, to get my chances to shoot and score. I think I have improved, but I have a lot of work ahead and I keep working in the way the manager wants me to.
“I am enjoying the way I am playing in this position and I hope to win things together with my team-mates and my coach and this is the most important thing.”
Despite his role change, Kante remains invaluable to Chelsea as one of just three players to play in every single Premier League games for the Blues this season.
The Frenchman has only failed to complete the full 90 minutes on two occasions, in Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat to Wolves and 5-0 win over Huddersfield, though both substitutions came late on.
Chelsea working hard to make Sarrismo work
Following their 6-0 mauling at the hands of Manchester City on Sunday, Chelsea have slipped to sixth in the Premier League, with the Blues coming under a lot of criticism for their style of play from both pundits and their manager.
Following Chelsea’s recent defeats against Arsenal and Bournemouth, Maurizio Sarri called his players out for being difficult to motivate, but remained stern his style would not change.
And Kante has revealed the Blues are trying “very hard” in training to play to Sarri’s system, though it has not always worked out.
He added: “He wanted to make us understand what he was feeling about us and we worked on that.
“We had a good week when we won against Tottenham and Sheffield Wednesday. Then we lost at Bournemouth and won very well against Huddersfield, so I hope we can continue in that way. We understand what the manager wants from us and we will try to give our best answer.
“He has his idea of playing, he wants us to play an attacking style of football and we try to do it in the best way. We are working very hard in training and we try to reproduce that in the games.
“In some games, we can see we have played very well, with an attacking style. Some games we score and some games we play very well and don’t score, but I think we are playing very good football.”
