Premier League predictions for all 10 matches this gameweek – Arsenal to upset Liverpool’s title bid?

The Premier League is getting ready for another blockbuster gameweek of football.

Saturday sees Manchester United travel to the south coast for a lunch-time kick-off whilst Arsenal and Liverpool will square off in what is sure to be a goal fiesta at the Emirates. Wolves and Spurs will play each other in a rare weekend night game, whilst the highlight of Sunday is Chelsea’s London derby with Crystal Palace. Finally on Monday, Huddersfield and Fulham will play nice and try to do well.

We’ve had a look at the fixtures and had two of the Squawka team come up with predictions:

Bournemouth vs. Manchester United

Muhammad Butt: José Mourinho appears to have, at the very least, stopped attacking his own players in public. They face a long journey south (before a longer journey south to face Juventus in the Champions League) but have played well in the last three and a half games, so they will have a good match vs. an in-form Cherries side, going ahead big and then holding on to sneak a win. 2-3 United.

Evan Smith: Romelu Lukaku has had his rest and now he’s facing a side he loves to score against (with six goals in just three Premier League appearances), and if you add this to Anthony Martial’s great form I think Mourinho’s men will have too much. 1-2 United.

PLAYER TO WATCH: Romelu Lukaku has scored 8 goals vs. Bournemouth across all competitions, scoring more against just one other side (11 vs. West Ham).

Cardiff vs. Leicester

MB: Cardiff are a pretty awful side and in Kelechi Iheanacho, Leicester have a striker who will be itching to re-find his goalscoring touch. Moreover, after last week’s tragedy it’s hard to see Leicester not playing their hearts out and putting on a show for their tragically departed owner. 0-3 Leicester.

ES: Cardiff are conceding an average of 2.6 goals per game so it’s hard to see anything but an away win here. 0-2 Leicester.

PLAYER TO WATCH: Callum Paterson can become the first Cardiff player to ever score in 3 consecutive Premier League games if he notches vs. Leicester.

Everton vs. Brighton

MB: Brighton have kept three consecutive clean sheets so one can easily see the fledgling Everton attack being blunted by Chris Hughton’s organised defensive approach, although Jordan Pickford will blunt Brighton’s counter. 0-0 draw.

ES: Everton have lost just one of their five home games this season and Sigurdsson has scored 4 goals in his last 4 games. 2-0 Everton.

PLAYER TO WATCH: Gylfi Sigurdsson has created 15 chances from set pieces alone, no other Premier League player has more.

Newcastle vs. Watford

MB: Watford are back in form (two wins, five goals, zero conceded) after a sticky patch and Newcastle look like they’re circling the drain under an unsupported Rafa Benitez. Only one winner. 0-2 Watford.

ES: No Newcastle goal in the last 260 mins of PL football, no shots on target in last game v Southampton, not much sign of things improving, so this is going just one way. 0-2 Watford.

PLAYER TO WATCH: Abdoulaye Doucoure has created more chances from open play than any other Waford player.

West Ham vs. Burnley

MB: Neither side is exactly in great form, and if Andriy Yarmolenko was fit you’d back West Ham to take this but without the Ukrainian they may struggle to find a way by Joe Hart. 0-0 draw.

ES: Both sides are winless in last three PL games off the back of some difficult games. West Ham have lost 3 of 5 at home but Burnley only have an away win at Cardiff themselves. 1-1 draw.

PLAYER TO WATCH: Lukasz Fabianski and Joe Hart are joint first for saves made this season (44).

Arsenal vs. Liverpool

MB: Arsenal have the firepower to really hurt a Liverpool back-line that can still be exposed if attacked with enough gusto, but at the same time Liverpool’s lethal front three should make mincemeat of an awful Arsenal defence. Another big game loss for Unai Emery, but what a wild ride this one will be! 2-4 Liverpool.

ES: There have been at least four goals scored in each of the last five PL meetings and the goals trend should continue given both starts to the season. 2-2 draw.

PLAYER TO WATCH: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is averaging a Premier League goal once every 103 minutes; the best ever minutes per goal ratio amongst players to have scored at least 10 league goals.

Wolves vs. Spurs

MB: Spurs are the better side but with a crunch clash in the Champions League coming up midweek it’s easy to see them being distracted and not putting Wolves down as they should do. 1-1 draw.

ES: Spurs have made their best start to a Premier League season after the opening 10 games since the 2011/12 season and have won 5 out of 6 away games so far. 1-2 Spurs.

PLAYER TO WATCH: Erik Lamela has been directly involved in as many goals this season as he managed in 25 matches last season (4).

Manchester City vs. Southampton

MB: Pep Guardiola’s men are in sublime form and should roll over the goalshy Saints with commensurate ease. With Raheem Sterling buoyed by news of his new deal it’s just a question of how many. 4-0 City.

ES: Southampton have failed to score in each of their last five league games and Man City will comfortably get the victory and their record seventh consecutive clean sheet in the Premier league. 3-0 City.

PLAYER TO WATCH: Raheem Sterling has been directly involved in 21 goals in his 18 home appearances in the Premier League since the start of last season.

Chelsea vs. Crystal Palace

MB: Maurizio Sarri’s men seem unstoppable right now, but Crystal Palace love to play the Blues (having won two of the last three match-ups) and with Wan-Bissaka shackling the returning Hazard, Hodgson’s men will hand Sarri his first league loss. 1-2 Palace.

ES: Just one win in the last six matches for Palace and Sarriball is picking up serious pace. This London derby seems like it’s heading one way. 2-0 Chelsea.

PLAYER TO WATCH: Ross Barkley has scored from each of his last three shots on target in the Premier League. He is aiming to become the third Englishman to score in four consecutive games for Chelsea.

Huddersfield vs. Fulham

MB: Monday night is when it finally happens, Fulham will win again! The Cottagers last tasted victory in August but even their shoddy defence can withstand Huddersfield’s meagre attack, which means their quality forwards will win the day. 1-3 Fulham.

ES: Huddersfield haven’t scored at home this season yet Fulham are conceding 2.8 goals per gme on average so this is their best chance which they’ll probably take but wont win. 1-2 Fulham.

PLAYER TO WATCH: Aleksandr Mitrovic has been involved in 54.5% of the goals Fulham have scored this season (5 goals, 1 assist).
