Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku start on the bench for Manchester United for their Champions League game against Young Boys.
The pair had been part of the team to seriously under-deliver in Saturday’s goalless draw at home to Crystal Palace.
What is the big team news for both sides? Five key things to know…
- Prior to the teams being announced, it was reported Manchester United would be without a number of players including Alexis Sanchez.
- Mourinho has made six changes from the goalless draw with Palace, with Marcus Rashford starting up front instead of Romelu Lukaku.
- There is also a rare start for Fred, while Phil Jones has replaced the injured Victor Lindelof.
- Young Boys have it all to do if they wish to stay in Europe this season, and Gerardo Seoane has named a strong starting XI.
- The Swiss Super League leaders have made just three changes from their weekend win over FC Lugano.
As part of six changes to the United side, Mourinho has kept just two of his back five from the draw with Crystal Palace as only David de Gea and Chris Smalling remain.
Joining them in defence are Antonio Valencia, who is making his first appearance since the start of October, Phil Jones and Luke Shaw.

There are also starts in midfield for Marouane Fellaini, Fred and Nemanja Matic, while Jesse Lingard and Anthony Martial flank Rashford.
Meanwhile, Young Boys have made three changes from the team which beat FC Lugano 1-0 at the weekend with Jean-Pierre Nsame, Michel Aebischer and Mohamed Ali Camara all coming in.
Camara’s return means Sandro Lauper has reverted back to midfield having starred at centre-back for the past eight matches.
Young Boys are storming their way at the top of the Swiss Super League, currently 16 points ahead of their closest rivals, Basel, after just 15 games.
The Red Devils could secure their place in the last-16 of the Champions League if they beat their Swiss opponents, but Mourinho’s men will also need Juventus to take at least a point from their game with Valencia.
United fans react to Mourinho’s much-changed XI
With Mourinho previously saying he doesn’t feel Tuesday’s game is decisive, it is understandable the Portuguese has opted to ring the changes.
But this hasn’t stopped United fans from voicing their discontent over the XI.
