None of the so called ‘Big Six’ were in action during Saturday’s 3pm kick offs, but there were some interesting developments on Saturday afternoon.
Huddersfield lost their 1-0 lead against West Ham to draw 1-1 at the John Smith’s Stadium. A win for Huddersfield could have put more pressure on the sides just above them in the relegation zone.
Newcastle United’s 2-1 victory over Bournemouth sees them jump four places out of the relegation zone and into 14th – pending the result from Crystal Palace’s game against Spurs in Saturday’s late kick off.
On an emotional afternoon in Leicester, the Foxes couldn’t break the deadlock against Burnley and it ended goalless at the king Power.
Meanwhile, Southampton still haven’t won a home game this season as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Watford on the south coast.
Here are six things we learned during Saturday’s 3pm Premier League kick-offs.
1. Salomon Rondon scores his first for the Magpies
Salomón Rondón has scored more than one goal in a single Premier League game for the first time since December 2016, 697 days ago.

Newcastle took the lead against high-flying Bournemouth with a right-footed strike from Salomon Rondon. An Excellent save by Begovic denied Rondon’s first attempt, but he hit the back of the net with his follow up shot.
Rondon’s goal is the Venezuelan striker’s 29th in the Premier League, but his first in a Newcastle shirt since joining the squad from West Bromwich Albion at the beginning of the season.
Rondon has taken his time to find his form at Newcastle; his first goal was fortunate but his second was a finish of real quality. The Venezuela international timed his run to perfection when he rose to meet Kenedy’s cross which he finished with a thunderous header leaving Begovic with no chance.
2. Pritchard ends Huddersfield’s goal drought at home.
Alex Pritchard has become the first Huddersfield player to score a Premier League goal at home since April.

Huddersfield succeeded in lifting themselves off the bottom of the table on Monday with a 1-0 home victory against Fulham.
Even though they won that game, a Huddersfield player failed to get on the scoresheet for the eighth consecutive home game, as Timothy Fosu-Mensah’s own goal sealed victory for David Wagner’s men.
The Terrier’s long wait for a goal at the John Smith’s Stadium was finally brought to an end this afternoon after Alex Prithard fired the West Yorkshire side ahead against West Ham United.
Alex Pritchard is the first Huddersfield player to score at home in the Premier League in 726 minutes of action, 211 days and eight games since Tom Ince scored against Watford back in April.
3. Gabbiadini scores his first of the season
Manolo Gabbiadini ended his goal drought when he scored Southampton’s opener, and his first goal of the season against Watford.
His strike, which came during the first minute of added time in the first half, is the Italian Striker’s first goal in 17 games.
Gabbiadini’s strike is also Southampton’s first Premier League goal this season not scored by Danny Ings, a defensive midfielder or a left-back. Ings did play a vital role in Gabbiadini’s goal and Southampton could be without the striker as he was taken off with an injury in the 40th minute.
4. 5,000-1 walk
Thank you for the beer,
Thank you for the cakes,
Thank you for the memories,
And thank you for restoring the faith. As fans you gave us more,
Than we could ever have wished to see,
Vichai, you made our club,
A fox you will forever be. #LCFC pic.twitter.com/urSNH6wmgI— Tom F (@13thoughts) November 10, 2018
Before Leicester took on Burnley at the king Power stadium, fans of the club took part in a march from Jubilee Square to the King Power in honour of club chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha who was among five people to lose their lives in a helicopter crash outside the stadium.
The march was named after the enormous odds the Foxes overcame to win the Premier League in what has come to be known as the league’s “fairy tale” season.
Thousands of Leicester’s fans and football fans from around the world have payed their own respects to those who lost their lives in the crash with heartfelt letters, flower arrangements and other tributes. A minutes silence was impeccably observed during the game which was also held ahead of Remembrance Sunday in honour of British Service men and women who sacrificed their lives during war time.
5. West Ham continue to struggle on the road
The Hammers have only taken five points from six games on the road in the Premier League. It was looking like the east Londoners were going to struggle to get that as the Terriers took a 1-0 lead in the early stages.
Manuel Pellegrini’s men fought hard to get back into the game and Felipe Anderson’s left footed strike put them on level footing. The Hammers would’ve been expecting to get more from this game against a Huddersfield team who had only found five goals before kick off.
Despite having most of the possession this afternoon West Ham could not force a winner against the Terriers and Hammers fans will have to endure another disappointing trip back to the capital.
6. Southampton still without a home win
Saturday’s draw against Watford means the Saints haven’t won any of their six home games in the Premier League this season and they’ve won at home just twice in the league in a year.
The south coast outfit went ahead with a poachers finish from Manolo Gabbiadini, but they gave up most of this afternoon’s possession to the visitors who scratched and clawed their way back into the game when Jose Holebas popped up to strike home on the 80th minute.
Holebas has been directly involved in more Premier League goals this season than any other defender (2 goals, 4 assists). Southampton’s next opportunity to win at home will not be without its challenges as they entertain Manchester United on December 1.
The big talking point from Saturday’s game will be the need for VAR after Charlie Austin’s goal was ruled off side. His post match interview is well worth the watch if you get the chance.
