The FansBet Star Sixes boasts six-a-side squads made up of some of the game’s most illustrious former players, and no side is more resplendent with star power than the Rest of the World line-up.
The RoW team is captained by Arsenal and France legend Robert Pires, who is joined by Spain international playmaker and former Lazio and Middlesbrough favourite Gaizka Mendieta.
Mendieta expressed his excitement over the prospect of lining up with the RoW skipper in a recent interview: “Robert? Well, it’s fantastic to play alongside him.
“[His] technique, pace, fitness levels are still amazing, and the vision that he has. Personally, I love to play with him because he’s always looking to link up, play one-twos and show generosity when it comes to scoring, so I’m really happy to have him as a captain and in my team.”
They are also joined by the jaw-droppingly skilful Bolton Wanderers cult hero Jay-Jay Okocha, as well as ex-Dutch international Pierre van Hooijdonk and Ajax, Barcelona and Rangers star Ronald de Boer.
