Fans rave as Redknapp compares Man Utd star Paul Pogba to one of the world's most famous athletes

Jamie Redknapp has compared Paul Pogba to basketball player LeBron James in the wake of his two-goal performance against Bournemouth on Sunday.

Pogba’s double helped the Red Devils on their way to a 4-1 victory at Old Trafford, with Marcus Rashford and Romelu Lukaku adding the other two goals, meaning Ole Gunnar Solskjaer maintains his 100% record as Manchester United caretaker manager, winning three out of three so far.

Talking in the Sky Sports studio, Redknapp said: “The power, the pace and the height that he gets; it’s like Lebron James getting to the hoop, you can’t stop it.

“It’s unstoppable and it makes you wonder why he doesn’t do it more often because he’s such a physical presence in the box and brilliant in the air as well.”

Pogba backed up his two goals with an assist to boot, meaning the French World Cup winner has now been directly involved in seven goals since Solskjaer took up the Man United hot seat, more than any other Premier League player in that time.

Manchester United’s win over Bournemouth leaves them just three points behind fifth-placed Arsenal, while their 12 goals in the last three games mean the Red Devils have taken their goal difference to plus nine.
