No need for £15m Norwich raid? Spurs back-up serves up three assists in 35 minutes to make Poch think twice

Tottenham Hotspur defender Kyle Walker-Peters completes a hat-trick of assists in Spurs’ 3-0 first Half thrashing of Bournemouth.

Christian Eriksen’s left-footed effort put Spurs ahead on 16 minutes. His shot deflected off Jefferson Lerma to confuse  Asmir Begovic and trickle into the net.

Heung-min Son grabbed their second after finishing off Walker-Peters’ pass seven minutes later, smartly finishing from range.

Walker-Peters notched his third assist of the afternoon when he received the ball behind Charlie Daniels on the right flank. He pulled back a pass to Lucas Moura who curled the ball into the right corner of the net from the middle of the penalty area.

Walker-Peters is the first player to complete three assists in the first half of a Boxing Day Premier League fixture since Stephen Ireland in Man City’s 5-1 home triumph versus Hull City in 2008.

The 21-year-old defender is also the youngest player (21y 257d) to provide three assists in a Premier League game since Jermaine Pennant (20y 227d) made three in August 2003 for Leeds United against Middlesbrough.

Tottenham have been linked for a £15m move for Norwich’s teenage full-back Max Aarons in recent weeks, but Walker-Peters first-half playmaker’s hat-trick may just have saved his career

Spurs finished off the half 3-0 up, and it’s looking like curtains for Bournemouth who will have lost three of their last four Premier League games with defeat today.
