Have Man Utd confirmed their new caretaker manager? Club website appear to leak Mourinho's short-term successor

Ole Gunnar Solskjær looks set to be named the caretaker manager of Manchester United following a series of videos published and subsequently removed on the club website.

Jose Mourinho was sacked on Tuesday morning following a 3-1 defeat to fierce rivals Liverpool and the Old Trafford club confirmed that a short-term appointment would be made before a recruitment process for a long-term permanent manager began.

Former striker Ole Gunnar Solskjær was made the favourite after numerous reports, and now it appears his appointment has been confirmed ahead of schedule.

Norway’s largest newspaper VG published an article that reported three Solskjær videos had been posted on the club’s website celebrating the forward’s time at the club.

“The most famous night of Ole’s career” was the title of one video which looked back at the Baby-Faced Assassin’s famous Champions League-winning goal at Camp Nou in 1999.

“Solskjaer becomes our interim manager, 20 seasons after clinching the Treble with THAT goal at Camp Nou” was the description below the title.

VG also reported that around 20 minutes after they had published their article, the videos were taken down.

Even the Norwegian Prime Minister, Erna Solberg, congratulated her compatriot for the appointment on Twitter.
