Paul Ince has admitted he would be shocked if Arsenal allow Mesut Ozil to leave for Inter Milan in the January transfer window.
Ozil appears to be out of favour under new Gunners manager Unai Emery, who has opted against selecting the German in recent Premier League matches.

- Ozil was also left out of the Gunners team for the recent north London derby victory over Tottenham, though the club revealed it was due to injury.
- He is now being linked with Inter Milan, but Paul Ince believes the move would be “strange” for the player and Arsenal.
Ince, who played for Inter between 1995-1997, thinks Ozil still has the potential to be “unplayable” for Arsenal and doesn’t think the links with his former club make sense.
“I’m pretty shocked [by the reports],” Ince told the Mirror. “I remember watching Mesut Ozil a few weeks ago [against Leicester City] and he was outstanding, unplayable.
“He was captain, playing like a world-beater. He’s been at Arsenal a long time and you’d think Emery would love him.
“The next thing I hear he’s going to Inter – whether it’s true or not, I don’t know, but it would be strange considering what he gives Arsenal.
“I know he’s been out the last few weeks with a back injury. Maybe that’s what Emery sees and I’m sure he’ll want to spend again at the end of the season.
“And if you’re talking about his astronomical wages, you get him off the wage bill.”
Emery: Ozil could start against Southampton
Arsenal travel to Southampton this weekend aiming to take their incredible unbeaten run up to 23 games.
Ozil returned from a back injury to play a part in Thursday’s 1-0 victory over Qarabag at the Emirates in the Europa League.
And Emery has suggested the 30-year-old could start against Southampton after an impressive display in Europe.
“Ozil was good tonight. I think after his injuries, he is coming back with good work and today he performed,” Emery said on Thursday, according to Sky Sports.
Ozil has made 13 appearances across all competitions so far this season, scoring four goals and providing two assists.
