Premier League predictions for all 10 matches this gameweek

The Premier League is getting ready for another blockbuster gameweek of football.

The highlight of these midweek round of fixtures involve the Manchester sides. On Tuesday we have Champions City travel down south to take on Watford, whilst on Wednesday Manchester United will host Arsenal in the renewal of a classic Premier League rivalry.

We’ve had a look at the fixtures and had two of the Squawka team come up with predictions:

Watford vs. Manchester City

Muhammad Butt: Watford have come off the rails a little bit and Manchester City look irresistible right now. It’s always worth considering Javi Gracia’s ability to scheme for games like this, but Pep Guardiola’s men are just too powerful. 1-5 City.

Evan Smith: Watford have taken just two points out of a possible 24 against Manchester City in their Premier League history and have lost the last six consecutive meetings. Man City should win this one easily and stretch their unbeaten run to 15 in the league. 0-4 City.

PLAYER TO WATCH: Raheem Sterling has been directly involved in more goals this season than any other player in the Premier League (14).

Bournemouth vs. Huddersfield

MB: Huddersfield will want to come to the south coast and cause an upset but Bournemouth will be hungry for a win after a brutal run of four defeats in a row (three against big sides). With Callum Wilson in form, you can’t rule out the Cherries. 2-1 Bournemouth.

ES: Bournemouth have lost their last four games in the Premier League and will go into this match fairly confident of avoiding making it five consecutive defeats. Those defeats have been against three of the so called big six and Huddersfield, the only side yet to reach 10 goals in the league, should be no match. 3-0 Bournemouth.

PLAYER TO WATCH: Callum Wilson could score his eighth goal of the season after 15 games – as many as he scored in 28 games during the whole of last season.

Brighton vs. Crystal Palace

MB: Palace have finally gotten over a hellacious run of games against the top sides in the league and will take their frustrations out on their next few opponents. A win at the weekend will give them all the momentum needed to take Brighton down. 1-2 Palace.

ES: Crystal Palace haven’t won consecutive Premier League games all season but they should fancy themselves in this game. Crystal Palace have picked up more points away from home this season and Zaha particularly loves this fixture. 1-2 Palace.

PLAYER TO WATCH: Wilfried Zaha has scored more goals against Brighton than he has against any other opponent he has faced in his career (5).

West Ham vs. Cardiff

MB: West Ham are all over the place, but they’re good at home (unless they’re playing a top six side which Cardiff aren’t) and their visitors Cardiff are poor away from home. Back to back West Ham wins? Bet on it. 2-0 West Ham.

ES: Cardiff have picked up more points in the last three games (6) than in their previous 11 combined. They are still winless away from home and I predict they can carry this form and nick a point at the London Stadium. 1-1 draw.

PLAYER TO WATCH: Felipe Anderson has scored four goals in his last four Premier League games for West Ham.

Everton vs. Newcastle

MB: Hysterical blunders aside, Everton were excellent against Liverpool. They were solid in defence and fluid in attack. Meanwhile Newcastle just got slapped at home. Expect The Toffees release their frustration and make it sticky for Rafa Benitez. 3-0 Everton.

ES: Everton have massively improved under Marco Silva and look a well constructed and balanced side again. They have won their last four games at home conceding just one goal in the process and this game should be a similar story. 2-0 Everton.

PLAYER TO WATCH: Lucas Digne has created more chances than any other defender in the Premier League (24).

Fulham vs. Leicester

MB: Fulham are on the upswing; their performance in defeat against Chelsea had plenty to admire about it. The defence needs work but expect Ranieri to guide the Cottagers to another win. 2-1 Fulham.

ES: Fulham are definitely showing signs of improvement under Claudio Ranieri however the defensive side of things will take some time yet – they have conceded two goals in each of his two games in charge. Meanwhile Leicester have hit a good run of form and are without defeat in their last five Premier League matches. I think this will be an entertaining draw. 2-2 draw.

PLAYER TO WATCH: Aleksandr Mitrovic has scored 50% of Fulham’s Premier League goals this season, the highest proportion of a side’s goals scored by one player in the Premier League.

Wolves vs. Chelsea

MB: Chelsea are back in the saddle after defeat to Spurs whilst Wolves haven’t won any of their last six games. Obviously anything is possible, but this seems nailed on for Sarri’s men. 0-3 Chelsea.

ES: Wolves’ form has dipped significantly in recent weeks where they have lost their last three home matches in the Premier League. Interestingly they have also failed to score in the first half of home games since the opening game of the season (a run of 6 matches). Chelsea look to have returned to winning ways after their first loss of the league season to Spurs and should win this too. 0-2 Chelsea.

PLAYER TO WATCH: Willian has created more chances (37) than any other player in the Premier League, despite providing just two assists this season.

Burnley vs. Liverpool

MB: Watching Joe Hart try to contain Mohamed Salah should be tremendously amusing. And if ever there was a game to get Bobby Firmino back in the saddle again, it’s this. But hey, shots are meaningless right Sean? 0-4 Liverpool.

ES: Burnley are winless in their last seven league matches and have scored just 4 goals in the process. Meanwhile, Liverpool have conceded just 4 away goals all season and are enjoying their best start to a PL season. 0-2 Liverpool.

PLAYER TO WATCH: Joe Hart has made more saves than any other Premier League goalkeeper (61).

Spurs vs. Southampton

MB: Southampton aren’t a good side but they are capable of some quality play. Freed from the grip of Mark Hughes, they will experience an uptick in form and probably have enough to knick a point from a shaky Spurs side. 1-1 draw.

ES: Spurs should recover from their tough derby loss and sweep away a manager-less Southampton side who hve picked up just one away point in their last four games. 3-0 Spurs.

PLAYER TO WATCH: Dele Alli has been directly involved in more Premier League goals against Southampton (8) than any other side he has faced in the competition.

Manchester United vs. Arsenal

MB: Whilst the possibility of a boring 0-0 or a 1-0 (to either side) always exists for José Mourinho’s side… on recent evidence this match will be absolutely brutal. The Gunners are going to fire United into the sun. 1-4 Arsenal.

ES: Arsenal are flying at the moment and are unbeaten in their last 19 matches in all competitions. They will probably extend this unbeaten streak but claiming their first league victory at Old Trafford since 2006 may be a step too far against a side in need of points like Man Utd are. 2-2 draw.

PLAYER TO WATCH: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has scored with each of his last 10 shots on target in the Premier League.
