Arsenal manager Unai Emery has urged Mauricio Pochettino to resist Manchester United’s approaches and stay at Tottenham.
Pochettino has been heavily linked with the full-time United job after Jose Mourinho was sacked this week.

- The Telegraph claims United are prepared to pay £40m to buy Pochettino out of his Tottenham contract.
- Pochettino, who has a 56.6% win ratio at Spurs, has refused to comment on the speculation.
Emery and Pochettino have met twice already this season. Arsenal came out on top first, beating Tottenham 4-2 at the Emirates in the Premier League.
But Spurs took revenge in the EFL Cup quarter-finals on Wednesday night, running out 2-0 winners away from home.
In the build-up to the second derby, Emery advised Pochettino to ignore United’s interest and stay in north London.
“I think he’s very happy at Tottenham,” said the Arsenal boss, according to Goal.
“I think he’s coaching a very big team with very big players and now they are in the Champions League they are also in a better position in the Premier League than Manchester United.
“I think his performance at Tottenham is very big.
“I don’t know if he’s thinking to change for another club, but I am looking at him with a very big commitment to Tottenham and he’s creating a good performance, a good idea at Tottenham. Tottenham improved a lot with him.
“Their level now is very big. They have very good players, the coach is working very well, they are winning a lot of matches.
“When they are on the ball they are a very organised team, movement, they like a lot to be in possession, progress with the passes, with quality, are physically very hard and have attacking players with very big performances now.”
Pochettino is the best choice for Man Utd, says Stam
Pochettino is yet to win a trophy with Tottenham since arriving from Southampton in the summer of 2014.
However, he has transformed the club into regular competitors in the Champions League having finished in the Premier League’s top three in each of the last three campaigns.
With that in mind, former Manchester United defender Jaap Stam believes Pochettino is the only choice for the Red Devils.
“He is the best choice,” Stam told Sky Sports.
“He’s got a lot of experience working in the UK with Southampton and Tottenham. He’s good in building a team, plays attractive football, playing out from the back to score goals and win games. I would say that’s my choice.
“I think they can [get him]. There’s been a discussion at Spurs about not spending money on players, I think he is the type of manager who wants to invest every year and improve – at United he gets to do that.
“They’ve got the money to do that. For him that would be the ultimate step.”
