Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola says he does not think Jadon Sancho will return to the club in the near future.
Sancho’s excellent form for Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga has lead to suggestions that City may look to buy him back in the years to come, with some reports even suggesting that the club have a buy back clause.
That has since been put to bed and, speaking to reporters ahead of City’s Premier League clash with Burnley this Sunday, Guardiola says he’s not sure Sancho would consider a return to the Premier League Champions anytime soon.
“I don’t know, in football you never say no, but I don’t know. I think when he decided to move on from here it is because he doesn’t want to be here,” the Spaniard said.
“When he doesn’t want to be here I think he’s not looking forward to coming back here. That is what I think right now. Maybe in the future – new club, new managers – but I don’t know.

The 18-year-old winger already has an incredible eight assists to his name this season, with Dortmund shooting to the top of the Bundesliga table.
He was rewarded for his good form with a call-up to the latest England squad and made his senior debut in the Three Lions’ Uefa Nations League stalemate with Croatia last Friday.
Guardiola has kept a close eye on Sancho’s progress and has praised his early season form for club and country.
“He’s doing really well,” he added. “He’s started his career and hopefully, he can achieve what he was looking for. It’s a good sign for England that players are going there because it’s important for the future. I’m glad he’s playing well.”
