The brother of Antonio Conte claims there has been no contract between Real Madrid and the former Chelsea manager amid speculation surrounding Julen Lopetegui’s future.
Lopetegui is reportedly under pressure following Real Madrid’s poor start to the season. They currently find themselves in seventh place in La Liga having lost three of their opening nine matches, making this their worst start to a domestic league campaign since the 2002/03 season.
As a result, a number of potential replacements are already being mooted, including Conte, who has been out of work since leaving Chelsea in the summer.
But when asked by Cadena Ser whether his brother is set to take over at the Bernabeu, Daniele Conte revealed no deal is close. He said: “Antonio is on holiday at the moment. He hasn’t received any phone call from Real. We can definitely say it’s a great club, but for now there’s been no contact.”
Conte to Real Madrid?
Conte has won a total of four league titles as a manager, including three Serie A championships with Juventus and a solitary Premier League trophy with Chelsea.

He has also won the Suppercoppa Italiana twice as well as winning the FA Cup in his final game as Chelsea boss.
The 49-year-old certainly has the credentials to succeed at Real Madrid, but there isn’t even a vacancy yet going into this weekend’s El Clasico.
The result of the derby against Barcelona could determine Lopetegui’s future.
