Italian supporter Federico Roccio, who has visited over 500 football stadiums throughout Europe, says that Celtic Park has undoubtedly the best atmosphere.
Roccio spends much of his free time travelling around the world visiting different football grounds and has travelled to every stadium in Serie A after he headed to the Benito Stirpe Stadium to take in the clash between Frosinone and Empoli.
Roccio spoke to the Frosinone website while attending the fixture and was asked to name the best stadium he has visited.
According to the Daily Record, he said: “Without a doubt, especially for the atmosphere, I can’t not say Celtic Park in Glasgow. I remember at the end of a Celtic vs AC Milan game, with the Rossoneri victorious, the home fans came to the away section throwing their scarves. A beautiful gesture in today’s football.”
The Italian has also visited grounds throughout England, Spain and Germany, but previously said in 2017 that none have compared to the atmosphere and hospitality that the home fans showed him in Glasgow.
“I’ve been to 25 countries including Germany, France, Spain and England. The stadium that excited me most of all was Celtic Park,” Roccio said.
“I cried. Despite a heavy 3-0 loss, the fans just kept singing and they invited us to drink well with them. It was fantastic.
Roccio’s views also chime with broadcasters and journalists who have compiled rankings of football’s best stadiums, where Celtic Park regularly makes it onto the list.
Constructed in 18902, Celtic Park is Scotland’s largest stadium with a capacity of 60,411.
As for Celtic, they play Scottish Premiership league-leaders Hearts on Sunday with a chance to reduce the gap between themselves and first place to two points.
