Dimitar Berbatov believes Marcus Rashford could be thinking “f**k it, why not?” over a rumoured move to Real Madrid.
Rashford, a boyhood Manchester United fan, made his breakthrough early in 2016, scoring four goals in two games for the Red Devils and exploded onto the scene.
Since then, however, the 21-year-old has struggled to hold down a permanent spot in the United starting XI, with Real Madrid now rumoured to be chasing the forward as they seek to add more goals to their side.

Berbatov, who won two Premier League titles with Manchester United during his time at the club, believes Rashford may be tempted by the move, although he doesn’t think it would necessarily be the best move for the youngster.
The 37-year-old told Betfair, via Goal: “I would be very sad to see him leave and Manchester United need to do all they can to keep him, but you can see why players heads get turned when names like Real Madrid are mentioned.
“Madrid isn’t a place where he is necessarily going to get more playing time, of course, but when you are bit confused, you sometimes forget about those details and can get seduced by the big name. You think ‘f**k it, I’m not getting a chance here, so why not?’
“But, as I said, I do not want this move to happen.”
Should Mourinho be playing Rashford more?
Despite not wanting Rashford to leave Old Trafford, Berbatov does empathise with Rashford and understands why the England international’s head may be turned.
Berbatov also reckons United manager Jose Mourinho should be giving Rashford more playing time so that he can bring his England form to club level.
He added: “I wasn’t totally surprised to see rumours about Marcus Rashford moving away from Old Trafford.
“I think Jose Mourinho should be playing him more; he’s only going to get better with experience and we can see how well he is playing for the national team.
“Rashford hasn’t necessarily hit top form for Man United so far this season, but he is a good player with a big future ahead of him.
“If he is not happy with the lack of playing time, I can understand why he might start thinking about his options.”
