Jose Mourinho has denied reports that Alexis Sanchez will be seeking a January exit from Manchester United.
Sanchez moved to Old Trafford from Arsenal in January but has so far failed to put in the kind of talismanic performances that made him so important at the Emirates.

1. Before joining Manchester United in January 2018, Sanchez spent three-and-a-half seasons at Arsenal.
2. The Chilean scored 80 goals in 166 games for the Gunners, winning two FA Cups in the process.
3. He has only managed four goals in 30 games since moving to Old Trafford.
4. On top of his goalscoring troubles, Sanchez has only two assists for Manchester United this season.
5. His poor form has lead to rumours of a January exit from Old Trafford – Mourinho has denied this claims.
Such has been his lack of impact for Jose Mourinho’s side, speculation has been building around a potential move away from Man United in the January transfer window – speculation which the Portuguese manager has been quick to deny, defending Sanchez’ contribution to his team.
When asked if he expected Sanchez to leave, Mourinho replied (via Sky Sports): “I don’t think so because he has never told me that he wants to leave. He never told me that he’s not happy to stay.
“He is playing like the team. He is improving, like the team is improving, when he plays he is giving us his personality.
“His desire is to play and to produce for the team and [he is] trying to adapt to the way we play and vice versa.
“Can he do better? We all can do better. I can do better, he can do better, all the players can do better.”
What next for Manchester United?
Jose Mourinho would have wanted nothing more than to secure a morale-boosting win against Crystal Palace on Saturday, helping his players bounce back from a 3-1 Manchester derby defeat before the international break.
However, that was not the case as United played out a drab 0-0 draw with the Eagles and allowing Everton to leapfrog them into sixth in the Premier League.
The Red Devils face Young Boys in the Champions League next, before an away trip to struggling Southampton on Saturday.
