Spurs 2-0 Chelsea: every player marked out of 10 at half-time at Wembley

Spurs return from the international break to hit two past Chelsea int he first half at Wembley.

Spurs suffocated Chelsea right from the start int he first half of Saturday evenings London derby. Goals from Dele Alli and Harry Kane put Spurs on the front foot and their could have been a few more.

Here the ratings from the first half.

Tottenham Hotspur

Hugo Lloris – 7 –Made an excellent reaction save from Morata’s header, which he didn’t have to do as it was offside. Made good stop from Hazard late on.

Serge Aurier – 8 – Gave Marcos Alonso an nightmare on the right flank with suffocating pressure.

Juan Foyth – 7 – Solid in the air against Chelsea’s crosses.

Toby Alderweireld – 7 – Solid In the first half and distributed the ball well.

Ben Davies – 6 – Worked the ball well down the left flank with Eriksen and defended well.

Eric Dier – 7 – composed in midfield alongside Sissoko. Distributed the ball well and was effective at closing down players.

Moussa Sissoko – 8 – Spurs’ best player int he first half, Sissoko didn’t give Chelsea’s midfielders any time to breath. Made some flawless challenges and excellent interceptions.

Christian Eriksen – 7 – Wonderful cross to set up Spurs’ opener and was at the forefront of Spurs’ early pressure.

Dele Alli –8 – What International break?! Alli was a livelier in the early stages of this game and contributed to inspiring panic in the blues back line. Excellently taken header for Spurs’ opener delivered superbly by Eriksen.

Heung-min Son – 7 – The Korean was unlucky not to score a hat-trick in the first half, one miss was an absolute sitter, but was a consistent threat.

Harry Kane – 7 – Was a nuisance in attack and batted well in defence. Superb finish from range.

Chelsea

Kepa Arizzabalaga – 5 – Not much he could’ve done about either goal.

Cesar Azipilicueta – 5 – quiet at right-back and appeared ratted alongside his defensive colleagues int he opening stages. 

Antonio Rudiger – 4 – Wilted under Spurs’ early pressure, didn’t get tight enough and made some silly passes

David Luiz – 3 – Truly terrible performance. He appeared to move out of the way of Kane’s goal and allowed Spurs’ attackers to frequently get the better of him.

Marcos Alonzo – 5 – Could not handle Aurier in the opening stages, but worked his way into the game.

N’Golo Kante – 6 – Couldn’t get the ball in the beginning, but had more joy as the half rolled on. Produced nothing of note. 

Jorginho – 6 – A diminished figure in this half as Spurs did not allow him to settle into the game.

Mateo Kovacic – 6 – good in possession, but produced nothing of note.

Willian – 6 – A marginalised figure on the right flank. He produced a shot that went just wide.

Alvaro Morata – 6 – Didn’t time is runs well enough, but is getting closer.

Eden Hazard – 7 – The blues’ best player, he worked into the game after Chelsea finally managed to calm things down.
