Liverpool star Mohamed Salah is willing to “sacrifice” personal aspiration of winning the Champions League in order to help the Anfield club clinch a first ever Premier League title.
The Reds have not won a top-flight trophy in 29 years and remain just a point behind reigning champions Manchester City in the fight for Premier League supremacy.

- Salah has conceded he will be happy to “sacrifice” his own CL dream to focus on the PL title with just eight games remaining.
The Egyptian ace believes the Champions League is the most “prestigious competition” in world football but he is willing to abandon his own pursuit of continental silverware to help bring the Premier League trophy to Merseyside.
Liverpool will take on Bavarian giants Bayern Munich in the second leg of their round-of-16 tie at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday with the sides deadlocked at 0-0 on aggregate, but Salah has his sights set on more domestic affairs.
He said: “I will be honest with you, the most prestigious competition for me is the Champions League.
“But the dream for the entire city and the club is the league.
“So, I am happy to sacrifice my dream for their dream but if we win both that would great and this is what we are trying to do.”
The lethal forward went on to add that he hopes Pep Guardiola’s side will stumble at some stage in the title race, with the Reds relishing the chance to pounce.
“The competition is very tough and we have difficult games left as do they,” added Salah.
“All you can do is win your games and hopefully they will fail in one so we can win the title.
“My mind is sharp and there is pressure but I am strong mentally and we just have to keep going.
“We will see what we can do at the end of the season but mentally I am ready for everything.”

How does the PL race look?
With just eight games remaining, the Premier League has well and truly reached the business end of the season.
Liverpool face two tricky games against both Spurs and Chelsea in the coming weeks, but Jurgen Klopp will be encouraged both fixtures are on home turf.
The Reds also have two potential banana skins with an away trip to Newcastle in the penultimate game, as well as Wolves at home on the final day of the season.
Their remaining fixtures include matches against the current bottom three with the Anfield club facing clashes against Fulham, Cardiff and Huddersfield.

As for City, they also have to play Spurs at home and face a further mouthwatering derby against Man Utd at Old Trafford next month.
Their next two fixtures include Fulham and Cardiff, but a tricky final run of Burnley, Leicester and Brighton could cause slight concerns.
Both sides have a comparatively similar set of fixtures with two matches against big-six rivals apiece as well as a myriad of tricky contests.
On paper, Guardiola’s side look favourites to retain the title, but football is a precarious sport and there could yet be a few twists and turns on the horizon.
