Michael Carrick has said the on-field relationship between Manchester United duo Marcus Rashford and Paul Pogba cannot be coached.
Carrick, who is a key part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s backroom staff, believes Rashford and Pogba have a “good understanding” that clicks without the need for coaching.

United have fallen to defeats in each of their last two games, losing at Arsenal and Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League and FA Cup respectively.
Before those results, however, Pogba and Rashford helped the Red Devils win 14 of their first 17 matches under Solskjaer.
And Carrick believes the pair deserve credit for their displays.
“With Paul and Marcus sometimes you get little relationships that you can’t coach to an extent, it’s just just there, you get a feeling playing alongside your mate, you just click,” Carrick said, as reported by the Times.
“They have a good understanding this year and hopefully that carries on.
“We didn’t do much with Paul. He is playing with a smile on his face.
“The players need to take a lot of credit for what they’ve done, how they’ve jumped a level of two, the performances they’re putting in.”

Carrick admits he misses playing on the “big nights”
United secured an incredible comeback victory over Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League earlier this month, winning 3-1 in France after losing the first leg 2-0 at Old Trafford.
Carrick was part of the celebrations on the sidelines, but the former midfielder admits he misses playing in big matches for the club.
He added: “When the big nights come around, I do miss playing. But I’m enjoying the new role I’ve got so much, with the new responsibility.
“With the Tottenham goal at Wembley, when Paul played it over the top [for Rashford to score] we had a week in Dubai where we worked on that counter attack. You do get the satisfaction of that working.”
