Borussia Dortmund insist Christian Pulisic won’t leave till “end of season at least”

Borussia Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has poured cold water on suggestions Christian Pulisic could leave this January amid Premier League interest.

The highly-coveted American winger has been the subject of interest from Liverpool and Chelsea in recent weeks, but the German club are reluctant to sell this winter window.

Pulisic, 20, has just 18 months remaining on his present deal in the Ruhr district but Zorc remains adamant that his side will not be forced to part ways with the winger in January.

However, he did admit the club will reassess the situation come the end of the season.

“We have known these rumours for many years,” Zorc told German publication Kicker.

“We plan at least until the end of the season with him.”

Pulisic has been a prominent member of Die Borussen’s squad since making his senior debut in 2016, featuring over 100 times for the side across all competitions while scoring 15 goals and providing 20 assists.

Pulisic, who previously spent a year playing in England for Brackley town when he was seven, has recently opened the door on a possible switch to the Premier League, stating he sees “no reason why maybe one day I won’t play here.”

This season the 20-year-old has had to bide his time having come back from an injury during the summer, with just four league starts under coach Lucien Favre this term as Dortmund sit atop the Bundesliga.

Next up for Pulisic and co. is a trip to the Coface Arena to take on Mainz in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
