Hugo Lloris has urged Tottenham to stay consistent throughout the season in order to finish in the top four of the Premier League.
Spurs are currently fourth in the table – five points behinds leaders Manchester City and three points ahead of fifth-placed Arsenal – after making their best ever start to a Premier League campaign.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side have finished in the top three in each of the last three seasons, but increased competition from the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal could make achieving that more difficult this term.
The Londoners have won nine of their 12 league matches, losing the other three – they are yet to draw a game.
And Lloris, who captained France to World Cup glory over the summer, has called on his teammates to keep getting results if they want to qualify for the Champions League.
“I think the key is to stay as consistent as possible all through the season,” said the Tottenham skipper, according to Sky Sports.
“At the moment in the league we are in a good position. It is maybe one of our best starts of the last few years.
“We are in a good position and we need to carry on in the same way and try to improve the way we play. We are still competitive and we will be ready for top four challenge.”
Lloris’ Premier League form
Lloris has missed four Premier League games through injury this season. He has conceded five goals in his eight league appearances.
Only Paulo Gazzaniga (1), also of Spurs, has conceded fewer goals than Lloris in the English top-flight this term.
Gazzaniga (8) is also the only goalkeeper to have made more saves per goal conceded than Lloris (6) in the Premier League in 2018/19.
Tottenham face Chelsea at Wembley in the first game after the international break on November 24.
