Mbappe outlines his ideal footballer

Kylian Mbappe has described his ideal player, using attributes of current stars.

The 19-year-old has already lifted two Ligue 1 titles along with domestic cups with Monaco and PSG, as well as the World Cup with France.

Mbappe was asked to build his ideal player out of the current crop of footballers, but the Frenchman didn’t include any of his own abilities. Instead, the youngster proffered some of the biggest names in recent world football.

“I would choose Messi’s left foot, Neymar’s right foot, Cristiano’s mentality and Buffon’s class,” he told ESPN, via Goal.

“Which Mbappe’s part? There’s no need, it’s good just like this!”

Mbappe was also asked about comparisons between himself and Brazilian great Pele, following his breakout performance at the World Cup, where he scored twice in the Round of 16 and again in the Final to help Les Bleus over the line to claim their second World Cup.

“Of course I was very happy, very proud, but this is a difficult comparison,” he said.

“I don’t think anyone can do it like he did on his day. There’s only one Pele, he’s unique.

“I didn’t give too much attention to it, because no-one will ever be like Pele.”

Mbappe joins up with France this week as they take on Netherlands in a UEFA Nations League clash. The French national team will then take on Uruguay on Tuesday in a friendly.
