Borussia Dortmund winger Christian Pulisic feels “there is no reason” why he won’t play in the Premier League in the future.
The USA international has been on the radar of some of Europe’s top clubs for some time now and has scored two goals and registered two assists in 11 games in all competitions this season, with Dortmund racing into a four-point lead in the Bundesliga.
The emergence of England international Jadon Sancho has limited Pulisic’s playing time more than he would have liked this season, but that hasn’t stopped a host of top clubs coveting the 20-year-old.
Pulisic, who spent a year playing in England for Brackley town, aged just seven, said (via the Evening Standard): “England, the Premier League, is a League where lots of kids dream of playing so there is no reason why maybe one day I won’t play here.”
However, Pulisic refused to be drawn on any speculation about his future, insisting he is “enjoying every moment” of Dortmund’s strong start to the season.
He added: “We are having a great year at Dortmund and I am enjoying every moment of that. Then when the time comes for me to talk in the breaks about my future, then that’s when those things happen.
“Reading these articles [about me], I tend to stay away from that stuff. I know it is going to be there but it is not my priority.”
Pulisic has nine goals in 21 caps for the USA so far and is in the squad to face England at Wembley on Thursday.
