Chelsea stars reveal which player is most fined at the club

Chelsea teammates Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Callum Hudson-Odoi have revealed which player at the club gets the most fines.

Sensationally, the young England pairing agreed that French midfielder N’Golo Kante was the man who has received the most fines at the club this season.

Bad boy Kante? Five things you need to know…

1. N’Golo Kante joined Chelsea from former Premier League champions Leicester City in 2016 for a transfer fee of £32 million.
2. The Frenchman has made 127 appearances for the Blues, scoring seven goals.
3. Kante has won the Fifa World Cup, 2 x Premier League titles and the FA Cup in the last three years.
4. This season, Maurizio Sarri has opted to utilise Kante in a more advanced position rather than in his usual role as defensive midfielder.
5. Kante has scored three goals this season, his most in his professional football career.

Speaking on Sky programme Soccer AM, Chelsea pair Loftus-Cheek and Hudson-Odoi were asked which teammate was the one who received the most fines at the club.

To the surprise of many, the pair announced that Kante was the one with the most monetary punishments, mostly due to his lack of time-keeping.

Loftus Cheek said: “N’Golo!”

“Yeah, N’Golo! You wouldn’t expect it. He’s always late. Always,” said Hudson-Odoi.

Loftus-Cheek added: “He’s not super late. Normally you get places earlier, he’s usually one or two minutes late, or just on time!

“He comes in and smiles and everyone is like: ‘Yeah we forgive you’.”

Sarri makes it through tough week

Chelsea’s admirable performance in their EFL Cup final defeat to Manchester City has been overshadowed by the showdown between Sarri and his goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

With pressure mounting on the Italian due to poor performances across the past month or two, this week saw the Blues take on two fellow Londoners, Tottenham, in the Premier League.

The game at Stamford Bridge, saw the Blues to secure a 2-0 win and close the gap on their city rivals to just five points as they hunt down a place in the Premier League’s top-four.

Yesterday they defeated a spirited Fulham side 2-1 at Craven Cottage with goals from Gonzalo Higuain and Jorginho sealing the victory and capping off a successful week for Sarri.
