Maurizio Sarri has backed midfielder Jorginho to overcome the boo-boys at Chelsea.
The Italian metronome was replaced by Willian in the 72nd minute of the Blues’ 1-1 draw with Wolves on Sunday and was once again subjected to jeers from the Stamford Bridge crowd.

- Chelsea fans, however, have often accused him of showing little ambition with his passing.
- Jorginho has been jeered off in a number of Chelsea’s recent games, including Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Wolves.
- But Sarri has backed him to overcome the pressure on his shoulders.
But despite being scapegoated by the Chelsea supporters in recent weeks, Sarri has backed the midfielder and insisted his substitution was a purely tactical one.
“He is a very strong character and he is a professional who has to play in every situation,” Sarri told reporters after the match.
“In the last 20 minutes, he was not suitable for 4-2-3-1. It was only a consequence for the system.”
Sarri then suggested Jorginho’s dip in form is down to a lack of movement from his teammates, adding: “Jorginho, if the other players don’t move are in trouble. He is able to play one touch, but you need movement.
“I know him, he can go in trouble if the rest of the team was not moving.”

Wolves draw is a chance missed, according to Sarri
With Arsenal beating Manchester United 2-0 later in the day, Sarri has admitted Sunday’s draw with Wolves is a missed opportunity, especially considering the season is entering its final sprint.
The Blues are three points behind fourth-placed Arsenal, although they do have a game in hand, but still have away ties at Manchester United and Liverpool to come before the end of the season.
“When you have only ten matches every chance you don’t win is a missed opportunity,” Sarri added.
“In this moment, in the last 6 matches, we have won four and drawn two so there is a little consistency in this moment.
“We have to think only to the next match. We need to recover two points immediately. ”
Chelsea travel to Dynamo Kyiv for their Europa League round-of-16 second leg tie next before facing Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday.
