Fabinho thinks his Liverpool teammate Sadio Mane has everything it takes to become one of the best footballers in the world.
Mane has been one of Liverpool’s most important players under Jurgen Klopp and enjoyed a stellar 2017/18, scoring 20 goals across all competitions including 10 Champions League strikes.
He has started this season well, too, bagging four goals in eight Premier League appearances for the Reds.
And Fabinho, who joined Liverpool from Monaco over the summer but is yet to make his Premier League debut, believes Mane is on his way to becoming one of the world’s best.
“Sadio Mane is an excellent player,” Fabinho said in an interview with Goal. “Before I came to Liverpool, I saw him on TV and I liked him a lot.
“He is very fast and very intelligent. He has everything to continue growing to become one of the best players in the world.
“I hope he continues with us for a long time. It is a pleasure to play alongside him.”
Liverpool’s “complete” front three
Liverpool’s front three of Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah have scored 10 goals between them across all competitions so far this term.
That’s a relatively low number by their standards; the trio scored a total 30 Champions League goals in 2017/18 alone.
But Fabinho still thinks the Merseysiders possess one of the best front threes around regardless of their somewhat slow start to the season.
He said: “Our trio of attack is one of the most powerful in the world of football. They are complete, they are very fast, they have a very fast thinking speed, and they understand each other very well.
“They want to get better and they are very hungry for goals. Our team is very good because of the strength of our attack. I hope they score many goals this season.”
Liverpool travel to Huddersfield Town in the Premier League after the current international break.
