Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil will miss today’s north London derby against Tottenham Hotspur due to injury.
The Gunners are looking to extend their unbeaten run to 18 games in all competitions and move closer to their rivals who occupied the top-four positions.
Unai Emery’s side have to take on Mauricio Pochettino’s men without the services of top playmaker Ozil who was ruled out of action this afternoon due to suffering a back spasm in training prior to kick-off.
The club confirmed the news via their official Twitter account.

Arsenal may have been thankful to Ozil had he made an appearance against Tottenham this afternoon. The former Germany international has faced Tottenham 10 times in his career, scoring once and providing four assists for his teammates.
A win for Arsenal would see them overtake Spurs and push into the top-four as the clubs start approaching the famously intense Christmas football period.
Here is how Arsenal fans took the news that Ozil would miss the NLD

Mesut Ozil out of the Arsenal game after suffering a Back Spasm in training is an out and out lie. He's never put his back into anything!

Pretty sure in any other profession, with an absence record as bad as it is, Mesut Ozil would have been sacked by now. #Bottlejob #NorthLondonDerby
