Celtic reserves are “bigger” than former Premier League champions Leicester City, according to BT Sport pundit Chris Sutton.
The bizarre comparisons come after former Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers swapped the Scottish Champions for the Foxes this week.

- Leicester agreed on terms with Rodgers who was announced as the club’s new boss on Tuesday.
- The Foxes famously won the Premier League in the 2015/16 season.
With Rodgers now at the helm at the King Power Stadium, former Celtic striker Sutton feels that the move is a step down for the former Swansea boss, whose first game in charge comes against Watford at Vicarage Road on Sunday.
Perhaps getting slightly caught up in his frustrations, Sutton suggested that Celtic’s reserve squad are “bigger” than Leicester City’s first-team, an opinion that prompted disbelief among the BT Sport pundits.
Sutton said: “He has downsized, downgraded going to Leicester City and that is a fact.
“The bottom line is, if Brendan Rodgers is a Celtic fan and this is his dream job, just see it through to the end of the season.
“Celtic reserves are bigger than Leicester City.”

Lescott labels Sutton as “childish”
In response to Sutton’s comments, former Premier League winner Joleon Lescott couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
The ex-Manchester City and Aston Villa centre-back accused Sutton of being “childish” before giving examples of why Premier League Leicester City are a bigger club than Scottish champions Celtic.
Lescott said: “Childish comment. No chance, that’s a childish comment.
“How many players in their prime would go to Celtic or Rangers? Now, currently.
“Would Jamie Vardy go? Jamie Vardy didn’t go to Arsenal, so he isn’t going to go to Celtic.
“I’m not disrespecting Celtic and saying they’re a small club, by no means.”
“I’m sure of all of those Celtic players would swap three titles in Scotland for one Premier League with Leicester.”
