FIFA 19 is here, which means – among other things – we know which players are included the highly sought-after five-star skill move club.
So what does that mean? Well, players with five-star skill moves are highly-coveted in the video game, more so in the ‘Ultimate Team’ feature, as users are given license to demonstrate their technical dexterity with some of the finest players in world football.
The familiar faces of Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar and Ricardo Quaresma have continued to impress and will possess the desired skill traits in this year’s edition after they all enjoyed another campaign of tricks, trivelas and technical artistry.
But there are a few standout players who have caused a stir with their inclusion in the list. So who are they?
1. Marcelo
Club: Real Madrid
Overall FIFA 19 rating: 88 (Gold)
Position: LB
Highest attribute: 92 Ball Control
The 30-year-old Brazilian is known for his buccaneering runs and has often been touted as the heir to his compatriot and one of the finest left-backs to grace the game, Roberto Carlos.
And while he has built a reputation over the years for his relentless attacking and almost inhuman first touch, his inclusion in EA Sports’ list of five-star skill move players this year still comes as a shock because he is the only defender.

2. Jadon Sancho
Club: Borussia Dortmund
Overall FIFA 19 rating: 72
Position: LM
Highest attribute: 89 Agility
Sancho’s technical ability and innate skill-set are not unknown on English soil, in fact, many are craving for his introduction into Gareth Southgate’s England side because he possesses a unique ability currently absent within the Three Lions squad.
However, the talented tyro’s inclusion has only come as a shock because, even at just 19, and having made only a handful of appearances for the Bundesliga club, he has usurped all his compatriots by being included as the only Englishman with five-star skill moves on FIFA 19.
Jadon Sancho is the first English player to represent BVB in the Bundesliga; the 6th youngest in their history.

Sancho is the first Englishman to be deemed gifted enough to possess five-star skill moves since Tottenham academy winger Nathan Oduwa carried the mantle in FIFA 17.
3. Xherdan Shaqiri
Club: Liverpool
Overall FIFA 19 rating: 81
Position: RW
Highest attribute: 91 Balance
A player certainly capable of producing the spectacular from time to time, but given his inconsistency, and the fact that not even Lionel Messi could make the five-star skill move grade, it is perhaps a little surprising to see Shaqiri be given the attribute.

Shaqiri is more in the category of a scorer of fine goals rather than a fine goalscorer. Given his unpredictability on the ball, he is without question a skilful player, but to place him in line with the likes of Ronaldo and Neymar is a bold move.
4. Aiden McGeady
Club: Sunderland
Overall FIFA 19 rating: 73
Position: LM
Highest attribute: 91 Agility
At 32 and now plying his trade in the third tier of the English football league, McGeady’s career has not developed in the same way as his repetoire of skills.
The Scottish-born Irishman certainly possesses the requisite attributes to place him in the five-star skill move bracket – after all, the McGeady Spin is his move – but he has faltered in recent seasons and has struggled for form and consistency.
Anyone wanting to build an EFL League One side will be excited by the possibility as McGeady offers a tantalising opportunity to bring some skill to the lower reaches of English football.
5. Martin Odegaard
Club: Vitesse (on loan from Real Madrid)
Overall FIFA 19 rating: 74
Position: RW
Highest attribute: 85 Ball Control
The teenage talent is still only 19, incredibly, but this is the first time in his nascent career that he has been given the five-star skill move trait by EA Sports.
Joining Real Madrid in 2015 with the anticipation of breaking into the first-team, Odegaard has struggled to cement a starting position in the Los Blancos XI and has so far endured loan spells away from the club.
This year he has been sent to Chelsea’s affiliated feeder club Vitesse in the Dutch Eredivisie, and while the Norwegian international has the potential and obvious talent to reach the heights that are still expected of him, he is yet to prove his worth in the Spanish capital.
Two productive loan spells at Heerenveen have given him invaluable experience, and further playing time at the GelreDome may facilitate an ascent in Julen Lopetegui’s first-team next season. But, for now, the jury is still out on his Real career.
6. Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Club: LA Galaxy
Overall FIFA 19 rating: 85
Position: ST
Highest attribute: 90 Shot Power/Composure
At 36 the mountainous Swede is showing no signs of slowing down as he has continued to score goals for fun across the Atlantic in typical Ibrahimovic style since signing for LA Galaxy earlier this year.
On top of his goalscoring prowess, the former PSG striker has now been given five-star skill moves for the upcoming edition of FIFA despite not having the trait for the past four years.

FIFA 14 was the last time Ibrahimovic was deemed skilful enough to possess the desired trait, which was during his explosive goalscoring stint with Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1.
Ibra has since enjoyed a successful spell in the Premier League with Man Utd, scoring 28 goals across all competitions during his maiden campaign, but it has taken a move to the MLS for EA Sports to hand the former Sweden international five-star skill moves.
7. Santi Cazorla
Club: Villarreal
Position: CM
Overall FIFA 19 rating: 80
Highest attribute: 88 Composure
The pint-sized magician is another player, like Ibrahimovic, who has had to move clubs in order to be given five-star skill moves, with the 33-year-old returning to his homeland over the summer and signing for Villarreal.
The former Arsenal midfielder has never had five-star skill moves in FIFA despite demonstrating his expertise with the ball at his feet for the past six years in north London.
There is no denying Cazorla’s adroitness and skill with the ball, but why has it taken a move back to Villarreal for EA Sports to recognise this? He is now one of only four players who possess five-star skill moves and a five-star weak foot (which is certainly not a surprise) on FIFA 19.
