Mateo Kovacic has admitted he is feeling ‘a little bit tired’ after the increase in first-team football since joining Chelsea.
Kovacic joined the Blues on loan this summer after spending three seasons at Real Madrid, struggling to gain a starting berth at the Bernabeu.
The Croatian international has been a great success so far, both competing with and complimenting the likes of Jorginho, N’Golo Kante and Ross Barkley in the Chelsea midfield.
And, speaking about the amount of football he has been playing since his move to Stamford Bridge, Kovacic has admitted he is feeling a little tiredness.
He said (via the Evening Standard): “[Playing regularly] is good, I’m a little bit tired. I was not used to playing every three or four games and here it is very tough football.
Chelsea’s start to the Premier League season under Sarri
Under new manager Maurizio Sarri, Kovacic and his Chelsea teammates have made a great start to the new Premier League season.
The Blues are currently unbeaten in the league and sit third in the table, just two points behind joint-leaders Manchester City and Liverpool.
Sarri’s side face Crystal Palace at home on Sunday in their next game.
