Jamie Carragher feels Roberto Firmino has disappointed for Liverpool since coming back from the World Cup.
The Brazil international has been asked to play a more withdrawn role behind Mohamed Salah in the No.10 role due to alterations made by Klopp to Liverpool’s midfield set-up.
During the 1-0 win over Everton on Sunday, Firmino, who has scored just two goals in his last 15 games for Liverpool, was dispossessed more times than any other teammate (2).
On co-commentary for Sky Sports, Carragher remarked that Firmino, signed for £29m in 2015 under Brendan Rodgers, has looked like a new signing adapting to the Premier League during the first half.
Liverpool fans picked up on Carragher’s frustration with Firmino. One fan felt it strange that Carragher didn’t want Firmino to get opportunities despite his price tag.

Jamie Redknapp concluded that Firmino doesn’t look comfortable playing in a deeper role rather than his usual place leading the line for Liverpool.
Jamie Reknapp: “Roberto Firmino doesn’t look happy or comfortable in that deeper role.”
Jamie Carragher: “He still doesn’t look right after the World Cup.”
What’s going wrong Reds? 🤔

The game itself was turning into an entertaining scoreless draw with Liverpool struggling to create any clear-cut chances while Everton played with far more flair than last season’s match at Anfield, where under Sam Allardyce they concentrated all of their efforts on their defensive duties.
Then something completely and utterly bizarre happened. A hopeful ball into the box made its way to Virgil van Dijk who miskicked his shot, with it seemingly going sky high and out of play.
However, with the ball coming down near the Everton crossbar, Toffee’s goalkeeper Jordan Pickford tipped the ball back into play, allowing Liverpool substitute Divock Origi to head home from one yard out – quite possibly the easiest goal he will ever score – to gift the hosts three points in the dying moments of the match.
Pickford will be criticised but it was just one of those mad moments goalkeepers put themselves occasionally throughout their career.
