Arsenal told to make "decisive and rapid" action if they want to make key deadline day signing

Yannick Carrasco could still move to Arsenal before the transfer window closes on Thursday, according go the player’s agent.

The Belgian is currently at Chinese club Dalian Yifang having joined from Atletico Madrid last February, but is being heavily linked with a move away due to reported unhappiness.

Will Carrasco join Arsenal this month? Four key things to know…

  1. Arsenal have been linked with bringing in a new winger this window with Ivan Perisic heavily tipped to join on loan.
  2. But Inter Milan would only be willing to let the Croatian go permanently for their £35m evaluation.
  3. As a result, Arsenal have now turned their eyes to Dalian Yifang’s Yannick Carrasco on loan as the Belgian looks for a return to Europe.
  4. And, with the January transfer window closing on Thursday, Carrasco’s agent has admitted his client could still move to Arsenal – though it will be tight.

Arsenal have also been linked with a loan move for Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic, though with the Italian club reluctant to let the Croatian go on a temporary basis, Unai Emery is being forced to consider other options.

One of those is Carrasco, who is looking for a return to Europe after a year in China. And Carrasco’s agent, Christophe Henrotay has admitted a move to Arsenal is possible, though both parties are up against a time limit.

“Everything is possible but it seems difficult to do so because it would take decisive and rapid movements by the interested clubs to discuss and strike a deal with his current club,” he told Radio Rossonera.

The latest remarks come just days after Henrotay fuelled rumours of a departure, admitting Carrasco is not fully focused with his family unable to adapt to China.

He told Inter Dipendenza: “There’s plenty of interest in Yannick from all over Europe because his family are having problems adapting to China.

“He’s concerned about his family, which is completely normal. He has a lot of respect for his current club, Dalian, because he loves them and because they’re a great team with a lot of history.

“He wants to be honest with them, and it’s for this reason that he’s talked to the club, informing them that he isn’t 100 percent focused because of his family’s difficulties.

“Yannick’s very focused on working, but for his family it’s different. He has too much respect for the club not to tell them.

“There’s the possibility that Dalian reward this honesty and talk to the clubs interested in him.”

Emery reveals Arsenal’s January restrictions

Since Emery took over last summer, Arsenal have enjoyed an overall good season, currently sitting fifth in the Premier League after 24 games.

But there is still room for improvement for the Gunners as they look to close down on the final Champions League qualification spot, challenging with Chelsea and Manchester United.

However, Arsenal manager Emery has admitted he will not be able to buy any new players this moth – only looking for loan signings.

“We cannot sign permanently,” Emery said earlier in the month.

“We can only loan players. Only loan players.

“I can say to you that the club is working, the club is telling me the different situations in each moment. At the moment, we haven’t had any news today about that.”
