Kyle Walker uses the Harry Maguire meme to tease Man City title rivals Liverpool

Manchester City’s Kyle Walker has taken a dig at title rivals Liverpool with a tweet mocking their draw against Leicester.

City fell to a 2-1 defeat away to Newcastle United on Tuesday night, giving Jurgen Klopp’s side the chance to move seven points clear at the top of the Premier League with a win over Leicester City.

The Foxes, however, came from behind to hold the Reds to a 1-1 draw, courtesy of a Harry Maguire goal, meaning the gap stands at just five points.

And Walker used a meme of the England centre-back from the World Cup to mock the result.

The right-back captioned the tweet: “So basically they thought they were gonna go 7 points ahead…”.

The 28-year-old has since deleted the tweet, but not before a host of rival fans took the bait.

Pep Guardiola’s side face Arsenal at the Etihad on Sunday in the Premier League, while Liverpool’s next game is away to West Ham United on Monday evening.

Walker vs Liverpool continues

This, of course, isn’t the first time Walker has used Twitter to take a stab at Liverpool, with the former Spurs defender posting an image of himself wearing sunglasses with the caption ‘Liverpool? OK, let’s go!!!’ ahead of their Champions League quarter-final clash in March 2018.

Liverpool won the tie and went all the way to the final, with fans wasting no time in reminding a red-faced Walker of that.
