Dani Alves, Dani Carvajal and Danilo are the three best right-backs in the world, according to former Brazil defender Cafu.
The 48-year-old was generally considered the best right-back in the world during his playing days, making 525 combined club appearances for the likes of AC Milan and Roma.
Cafu won the Champions League with Milan in 2006/07 and captained Brazil to World Cup glory in 2002 having previously won the competition in 1994.
In an interview with the Mirror, he was asked to name the three leading right-backs in football right now.
“At the moment, Daniel Alves, Dani Carvajal and Danilo are in my opinion the best right-back players,” Cafu said.
“Among them, Daniel Alves is probably the one with the style of play most similar to mine.”
The wrong Man City right-back?
It’s difficult to argue with Cafu given his authority on playing at right-back, but there seems to be some nationality bias in his answers.
Brazilian duo Dani Alves and Danilo have barely featured for Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City respectively so far this season.
Kyle Walker, a regular for Manchester City and England, is almost certainly more highly-rated than Danilo, particularly considering he is picked ahead of the Brazilian for his club by Pep Guardiola.
Danilo is yet to make a Premier League appearance so far this season, playing 180 minutes in the EFL Cup and 29 minutes as a substitute in the Champions League.
