Former Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic has revealed that he would like to manage the Old Trafford club one day.
The Serbian played over 200 Premier League games for United between 2006 and 2014 and was considered one of the finest centre-backs in world football.
Now 37, Vidic is looking to get back into football and hopes to be a manager one day.
He joined United from Spartak Moscow for £7m in January 2006 and went on to win a number of trophies under the tutelage of Sir Alex Ferguson.
During his eight seasons at Old Trafford the Serbian won the Premier League five times, the League Cup three times and the 2008 Champions League.
Following Manchester United’s defeat in the derby on Sunday the defender was reluctant to criticise current United manager Jose Mourinho.
“To be honest, in the future I would like to be the manager,” he said speaking to BeINSPORT.
“I would like to think that I know things. For me to criticize José Mourinho, as someone who maybe in the future can become the manager, is not fair.”
Is Mourinho in trouble?
Mourinho may find his position under further scrutiny after United succumbed to defeat without putting up much of a fight. Their style of play has also been criticised by many fans who were used to watching a far more attacking style under Sir Alex Ferguson.
Since the Scotsman retired United have seen David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and now Jose Mourinho struggle to emulate the style and success that many have long associated with Manchester United.
The club have made a terrible start to the season losing four of their first 12 games and are already four points adrift of the Champions League places.
Despite losing his 300th Premier League game as manger Jose Mourinho still boasts the best record of any manger in their first 300, winning 189 of them.
United face Crystal Palace at Old Trafford next and the pressure will be on for the Red Devils to pick up three points.
