Mauro Icardi has denied reports Inter Milan asked him to fire his wife and agent, Wanda Nara.
The Argentinian’s future with Inter is currently in doubt, with the likes of Real Madrid and Chelsea reportedly interested in signing the forward.
Will Icardi stay at Inter? Five key things to know…
- Despite being named as captain in 2015, Icardi’s future at Inter Milan is currently in doubt.
- One on the best centre-forwards in Europe, the Argentinian has been linked with a move to the likes of Chelsea and Real Madrid.
- His wife and agent, Nara, has been particularly vocal over his future with reports claiming Inter had asked the forward to change representatives.
- But Icardi has dismissed these claims, while also confirming Nara would remain his agent until his career is over.
- Mauro Icardi has scored 120 goals in 204 games for Inter, enough to be the ninth top scorer in the club’s history.
Icardi’s wife and agent, Nara, has always been vocal over the forward’s future and recently admitted the Inter captain was “far away” from signing a new contract.
As a result, reports emerged that Inter had in fact asked Icardi to change agents, something the 25-year-old has dismissed.
Tweeting a video also posted on his Instagram account, Icardi said: “Where do these phrases come from? How is it possible that La Gazzetta writes this rubbish?”
The Argentinian then went on to confirm Nada would remain as his agent until his career ends.

Translated, it read: “Furthermore, I’d like to point out that I am very, very happy and satisfied with the work we’ve done so far.
“For this reason, it’ll always be Wanda Icardi who takes care of my and our interests until the end of my career.”
Wanda Nara on Icardi’s Inter future
Just last month, Nara risked the wrath of the Inter hierarchy by claiming the club had tried to sell Icardi to Juventus in the summer.
After another good goalscoring season for the Argentinian, Inter had a fight on their hands to keep Icardi at the San Siro, with the likes of Real Madrid, Juventus and Chelsea interested.
And, despite keeping hold of Icardi come the end of the summer transfer window, Nara claimed it had been down to the forward’s willingness to stay.
Speaking before Christmas, Nara said: “With Inter it’s not an issue of money. I think they can pay for his renewal, which remains the priority for us.
“The club contacted me in the midst of their Champions League campaign, but I said it was better to wait until after the group stage.”
“You saw how much I wanted us to go through and how much I cried. Inter’s offer doesn’t exist. I have to sit down and talk to them and I haven’t done that yet.
“Inter have their Christmas dinner on Tuesday and I think they’ll kill me, so I’ll bring something from home with me.
“Inter wanted to send Icardi to Juventus, but it was Mauro who said ‘no’ as he wanted to stay at Inter.”
