Antonio Rüdiger is hopeful Callum Hudson-Odoi will stay at Chelsea after the youngster, who is the subject of interest from Bayern Munich, asked him about life in Germany.
Having played for VfB Stuttgart in the Bundelisga, Rüdiger is well placed to offer his perspective on the continent.

The German defender told Sky Sports: “I can advise him. But, at the end of the day, he decides about his future.
“He can develop as well here. You can see it from both sides. Of course, he can develop in Germany as well, and don’t forget Bayern Munich is also a big club.
“I wish him all the best, but for me I just wish he stays with us. Of course, as a young player, it’s very important to play. Where it is? I hope it will be here.”
His wishes are understandable. Against Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup, it was Hudson-Odoi that stood out for his work on the flanks. He assisted both of Alvaro Morata’s goals as well as making many other key crosses and passes.
Keeping options open
Rüdiger continued: “To be honest, of all the young players I have seen at Chelsea, he is the shooting star for me.
“He has all the tools to become a big player, but he has to work a lot. I think for him everything is going very well at the moment.”
With Bayern rumoured to be willing to pay the £35m valuation for Hudson Odoi, the 18-year-old has a big decision on his hands.
Bayern’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic praised the player publicly, saying: “In my opinion, he’s a player who would fit in well at our club. He’s got unbelievable qualities.
“He’s good at dribbling and has pace. In my opinion, he’s a player we would definitely like to have. Let’s see what happens.”
It seems that anyone at Chelsea that can stop Hudson-Odoi from departing is trying to. Former player and now coach Joe Cole also recently talked publicly about the young rising star.
“He can really progress. He’s going to learn from [Eden] Hazard and the other players.
“For me, if I was Hudson-Odoi, I’d be watching Pedro’s movement off the ball because I think for any young player, that is pitch perfect. That’s what you want to be watching.”
It seems that Hudson-Odoi isn’t rushing into anything, but weighing up his options. The system around him is set up to make the most of the young player’s potential.
