Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge says James Rodriguez will not be returning to Real Madrid.
The 27-year-old Colombian playmaker is presently on loan from the Spanish powerhouse though Bayern have the option of making it permanent when the deal expires in 2019.
James, who joined Real following a successful 2014 World Cup campaign, has been heavily linked with a move back to Spain but it’s nothing but noise as far as Rummenigge is concerned.
“Lots of rumours that emanate from Spain are not true. The contract situation of the player is well known to everyone,” he said (via ESPN).
“James will definitely play for us this season, and I expect him to play for Bayern beyond that.”

The former FC Porto and Monaco attacking midfielder ultimately made no fewer than 111 appearances for Los Blancos, registering 36 goals and creating a further 40 for his teammates, winning two European Cups in the process.
A lack of playing time forced him to look elsewhere; in the end James opted for Bayern, then under the auspices of Carlo Ancelotti whom he previously worked under at Real Madrid.
Under the Italian tactician and his success Jupp Heynckes he’d feature 39 times for the German giants – registering eight goals and 14 assists. His performances helped Bayern win yet another Bundesliga title but they fell short in Europe by suffering Champions League elimination at the hands of eventual winners Real Madrid in the semi-finals.
