Aleksandar Mitrovic completes permanent Fulham switch

Aleksandar Mitrovic has completed a permanent move to Fulham after arriving on loan from Newcastle United in January.

Mitrovic scored 12 goals in 20 matches while on loan last term, as the west Londoners gained entry to the Premier League via the Championship play-offs.

The Serbian striker arrived on Tyneside in the summer of 2015 from Belgian Pro League side Anderlecht.

He spent three years with the Magpies, scoring 17 goals in 72 appearance across all competitions. Sixty-five of those appearances were in the Championship where he notched 14 goals.

“I’m very glad and happy and proud to finally be here and officially become a Fulham player. I’m happy to the moon and back. I have love for the fans. They’re amazing fans and I have a really good connection with them,” Mitrovic said in a Tweet released by the club.

Fulham have also completed the signings of Fabri, Maxime Le Marchand, Andre Schurrle and Jean Michael Seri this summer, as well as managing to hang on to rising-star Ryan Sessegnon who was nominated for last season’s PFA Young Player of the Year Award.

Fulham and Mitrovic will return to Premier League action on August 11 against London rivals Crystal Palace after playing in the second tier of the English Football League for the last four seasons.
