Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey believes Antoine Griezmann is the club’s best player.
The 27-year-old French forward re-committed his long-term future to Los Rojiblancos following heavy speculation linking him with a move to Barcelona this transfer window.
Heading into this summer’s World Cup finals Griezmann televised his decision to stay in the Spanish capital, and Partey, 25, was delighted with the outcome.
“We are very happy that Griezmann is still with us,” he said, via Marca.
“He is the best player we have and we are all looking forward to playing with him again.”

Since joining from Real Sociedad in 2014, Griezmann has developed into an integral part of Diego Simeone’s team.
To date, he’s managed 112 goals and 40 assists in 209 appearances, and enjoyed another productive season last term.
Across 49 matches in all competitions, the Macon-born footballer scored 29 goals for Los Rojiblancos, helping them win the Europa League.
He brought that form to Russia, bagging four goals and creating a further two across seven matches, helping France secure a second World Cup crown in the process.
The capital club face Inter Milan this Saturday in the International Champions Cup before playing eternal rivals Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup final on August 15.
