Bayern boss Niko Kovac refuses to comment on Arturo Vidal to Inter transfer claims

Bayern Munich manager Niko Kovac refuses to be drawn on Arturo Vidal‘s future.

The 31-year-old Chilean midfielder is reportedly a target for Inter Milan as manager Luciano Spalletti seeks to bolster his midfield options.

Kovac, who is preparing for his first season in charge of the Bavarian powerhouse, expects to call upon the combative midfielder.

“At the moment, Arturo is recovering from an injury. We hope he can come back as soon as possible,” he told reporters (via Football Italia).

“The future with him? I can’t say anything more.”

Vidal at Bayern

Since joining from Italian giants Juventus in the summer of 2015 for a reported £31.45m he has been ever-present under three different managers: Jupp Heynckes, Carlo Ancelotti and Pep Guardiola.

To date, he has featured across 124 matches in all competitions and has been involved in 40 goals (scoring 22 himself and creating 18 more for his teammates).

Last season he featured in 22 of Bayern’s 34 league outings, missing 10 of those matches due to various knocks, most notably a serious knee injury that kept him out of action since April.

Nevertheless he still managed six goals, two assists, an 89% pass completion rate and won 40% of his duels.
