Arsenal have already lost Aaron Ramsey to a “top-end club” – Craig Bellamy

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey has already decided to leave the Gunners for a “top-end club” according to former Wales international Craig Bellamy.

Ramsey has entered the last 12 months of his contract at the north London club and despite initial reports suggesting a deal could be agreed, it seems as though the two parties will go their separate ways at the end of the season.

The 27-year-old has been with Arsenal for 10 years after he moved from Cardiff City to sign for then-manager Arsene Wenger in 2008.

However, former Wales striker Bellamy believes that his fellow Welshman has already made his decision to leave the club on a free at the end of the campaign, with some of Europe’s biggest clubs surely interested in bringing the creative playmaker to their respective club.

“I think they’ve lost him already – I think he’s gone,” said Bellamy on Sky Sports.

“Come January or the summer, he’ll be going somewhere else.

“Four or five years ago, every club wanted him – Manchester City, Barcelona. I think it’s time for him to move on.

“He’s become conscious of some players that have stayed too long at Arsenal and not got the best out of their ability. He’s a tremendous footballer that has had injuries.

“Unai Emery will be a good manager for him but he needs a change. He’ll have a better chance of going to those top-end clubs if he’s on a free transfer.”

Ramsey has made eight Premier League appearances so far this season for Arsenal who are currently on a nine-match unbeaten run in all competitions.

On Saturday, Ramsey scored a fantastically crafted goal – backheeled into the back of the net – as Arsenal ran out 5-1 winners away to London rivals Fulham.

The victory took Arsenal up to fourth, just two points off the top spot which is occupied by current champions Manchester City.
