Match preview
Manchester United will be hoping to bounce back from late disappointment at the weekend when Juventus travel to Old Trafford on Tuesday.
The Red Devils dropped two points in the Premier League at Chelsea on Saturday, conceding in the 96th minute having initially come from a goal down.
Jose Mourinho’s men have had a mixed season both domestically and in Europe, currently sitting second in their group with four points.
Ahead of them are Serie A side Juventus, who have won both of their Champions League matches so far but will also be looking to overcome some recent disappointment of their own
The Old Lady dropped points for the first time this season on Saturday, drawing 1-1 at home to Genoa, seeing their lead at the top of the Seria A table cut to four points.
But domestic form will be forgotten with both United and Juventus looking to take control of Group H ahead of back-to-back matches between the sides in the competition.
Both currently unbeaten in the Champions League, United and Juventus are also yet to concede in their two matches – only two other teams (Napoli and Borussia Dortmund) have matched that feat this season.

Will Cristiano Ronaldo play?
When the draw was first announced, many were excited about the prospect of Cristiano Ronaldo facing off against former club Manchester United. But this was thrown into doubt after the first round of fixtures in which Ronaldo was sent off for an off-the-ball incident. However, a one-match ban was the punishment, meaning the Portuguese will be available for selection on Tuesday night.

Ronaldo, who was forced to publicly deny serious allegations of sexual assault earlier in October, will also be in attendance alongside manager Max Allegri at Tuesday’s press conference at 6.15pm BST.
Who is the referee?
Milorad Mazic, who refereed the 2018 Champions League Final, will be taking control of the game between Manchester United and Juventus on Tuesday. The Serbian has overseen five United matches so far with the Red Devils winning two, drawing one and losing twice – most recently a 2-1 defeat to Fenerbahce in the Europa League in 2016. Mazic has also officiated for three Juventus matches – one win, one draw and one defeat – with the most recent a 0-0 against Barcelona last season.
Is Jose Mourinho’s job safe?
Just two weeks ago rumours were circling over the future of Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, with some even claiming he would be sacked prior to the international break. But two spirited performances from his side, against Newcastle United and Chelsea, have cooled the reports with the Portuguese’s future unquestioned for the time being.
Head-to-head
Manchester United and Juventus have had differing starts to their seasons with Juventus failing to win just one of their 11 matches in all competitions while United have failed to win seven times in their opening 12 including three defeats in the Premier League.
Tuesday’s match will be the 13th time in total, and first since 2003, United and Juventus have faced off, with United emerging victorious on that occasion having also beaten the Old Lady in 1999 en route to winning the Champions League.
Despite the recent wins for United, both the Red Devils and Juventus have won five of the previous meetings with another two games finishing in draws.

Team news
Despite a slow start, most Manchester United players performed very well against Chelsea and Jose Mourinho will be unlikely to make many changes unless required. Though Juan Mata was one of the best players at the weekend, the Spaniard may drop down to the bench for some more solidity in midfield while Romelu Lukaku will start once more with Alexis Sanchez ruled out.
Meanwhile, Juventus have no fresh injury news and will likely name a strong XI looking to take control of Group H, knowing a win could leave them just two points away from qualification for the knockout stages. This means former United forward Cristiano Ronaldo will be a certainty to start at Old Trafford.
Predicted Manchester United XI: De Gea; Young, Smalling, Lindelof, Shaw; Pogba, Matic, Fred; Rashford, Lukaku, Martial.
Predicted Juventus XI: Szczesny; Cancelo, Bonucci, Chiellini, Sandro; Pjanic, Matuidi, Can; Dybala, Mandzukic, Ronaldo.
Predictions & Betting Tips
1. Juventus to win @ 27/20
Despite their recent upturn in form, coming from behind to earn points from their past two matches, United should not cause much trouble for Juventus on Tuesday.
The Old Lady only dropped points at the weekend due to complacency, according to Massimiliano Allegri, and will be looking to ensure the same doesn’t happen again.
A win for Juventus would see them close in on winning Group H, something the Old Lady will be hoping to do sooner rather than later.
Key Stat: Juventus have only failed to win one of their 11 games so far this season.

2. Both teams to score NO @ 17/20
Juventus are a team who take pride on their defensive abilities, and it has shown this season, with the Old Lady conceding just six goals in their 11 games across all competitions so far.
And though United also try to be resolute defensively, Jose Mourinho’s men have shipped 18 goals in 12 games including 10 in their past six.
Both teams have kept two clean sheets in the Champions League so far, but Juventus would fancy themselves to follow in Valencia’s footsteps in keeping a clean sheet at Old Trafford.
Key Stat: Both Juventus and Manchester United are yet to concede in the Champions League this season.

3. Cristiano Ronaldo to score first @ 4/1
Often when a player of Cristiano Ronaldo’s calibre returns to their former club, they make a decisive impact on the match and find themselves on the scoresheet.
Despite a slow start at his new club, Ronaldo is in good form, scoring five goals in 10 games including two in his last two.
There is also the small matter of the Champions League being Ronaldo’s competition, with the Portuguese having scored more goals (120) than any other player.
Key Stat: Cristiano Ronaldo has scored in two of his three appearances against Manchester United.
