Usain Bolt thinks Manchester United will beat Juventus 1-0 when the sides meet in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Cristiano Ronaldo is set to play against his former club – where he scored 118 goals in 292 appearances – in a Juventus shirt for the first time.
But Bolt, who remains on trial with Australian side Central Coast Mariners, believes home advantage will help United to secure all three points despite the threat Ronaldo poses.
“I think it’ll be a great match,” Bolt said in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport (via Football Italia).
“Two great teams will face each other on the most important stage, with great history and pride. Juventus are doing great in Serie A and the results haven’t been good for United so far, but I remain confident.
“Man United are playing at home so they have a certain advantage. Playing at Old Trafford or away is not the same thing.
“I can’t see a match with many goals, so we’ll say 1-0. I think it’ll end 1-0 to United.
“I have a lot of respect for Cristiano Ronaldo, huge respect for what he’s done on the pitch.”
Ronaldo vs Man United
Ronaldo has faced United twice since leaving for Real Madrid in 2009, scoring on both occasions in the Champions League.
However, the 33-year-old has scored just one goal in 14 appearances against teams managed by Jose Mourinho.
A win will see United climb above Juventus into top spot in Group H.
Mourinho’s side have four points after beating Young Boys and drawing to Valencia, while Juventus have taken maximum points against both those sides.
Ronaldo will be seeking his first Champions League goal for Juventus. He missed the victory over Young Boys following his red card against Valencia.
