Unai Emery has backed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah to fire in the goals for Arsenal next season.
The 46-year-old Spanish coach succeeded long-term Gunners boss Arsene Wenger in May and is currently preparing for the forthcoming campaign.
So far this summer the north London club have been active in recruiting personnel, but they’ve not made any attacking signings, which doesn’t concern Emery as he’s comfortable with his striking options.
“I am happy with Auba tonight,” he told reporters after their recent friendly win over Chelsea.
“The possession with the ball and the pressing. For the finishing, we want to improve for that but we have very good strikers in Lacazette, Aubameyang and Nketiah. I think we are going to get goals with these strikers.”
Aubameyang-Lacazette
Aubameyang and Lacazette, who both arrived last season, are the Gunners’ two most expensive signings.
Lacazette, 27, finished as their overall leading goal scorer having bagged 17 goals in 39 matches but the Frenchman was often criticised for being wasteful in front of goal.
Aubameyang, 29, who arrived in January wasn’t far behind. The Gabonese marksman registered 10 goals across 14 appearances, all of which came in the league, which makes him the fastest player to reach 10 Premier League goals for Arsenal.
To date the pair have played in six matches together, combing for three goals, Lacazette assisting Aubameyang once and Aubameyang assisting Lacazette twice.
