Neymar shuts door on possible exit: “I have a contract with PSG and I’ll stay there”

Paris Saint-Germain talisman Neymar has revealed his desire to honour his current contract with the French club.

Neymar, 26, became the world’s most expensive player when he signed for the Ligue 1 giants from Barcelona last summer for a reported £198m fee, though he has since been linked with a move to Real Madrid in the past two transfer windows.

However, Brazil’s emblematic player has now quashed rumours of a possible exit from the Parc des Princes by committing his immediate future to his current employers.

Neymar was recently in Barcelona for some publicity work alongside old team-mate Gerard Pique, and during the event he spoke to reporters (via AS) about speculation linking him with a move away from the French capital.

“I have a contract with PSG and I’ll stay there,” he said.

PSG appointed German tactician Thomas Tuchel over the summer, and the former Borussia Dortmund manager has enjoyed a perfect start to life in the hot seat, winning his first three league matches in charge.

Against Caen, Guingamp and Angers, the French champions struck three past all opponents, with Neymar scoring a goal in each match.

The former Barca winger endured a devastating end to his maiden season with PSG after fracturing a metatarsal bone in his right foot during a match with Marseille in February.

Fortunately he made a full recovery and featured for his homeland in the World Cup, though the five-time winners of the quadrennial tournament crashed out in the quarter-finals to Belgium.

This season, Neymar has picked up where he left off in February with three goals and one assist, and he could increase his goal tally this weekend when PSG lock horns with Nimes Olympique.
