Jose Mourinho takes almighty dig at Spurs after ‘sacked in the morning’ chants

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has come out on the attack again in his latest press conference, this time criticising Tottenham Hotspur fans for their ‘sacked in the morning’ chants at Old Trafford on Monday night.

United fell to a 3-0 defeat to Spurs and have only registered three points from their first three league games this season.

Following the match, Mourinho criticised a reporter for showing him a lack of respect and reminded the media that he has won more Premier League titles than the other 19 managers in the Premier League combined.

When asked for his thoughts on the Spurs fans’ chants on Monday, Mourinho told reporters: “They didn’t have that song when we beat them at Wembley a couple of months ago.

“A cup final they had a big dream to go to, a title they had a big dream to win, because they don’t win many.”

United came out on top against Tottenham in last season’s FA Cup semi-final, winning 2-1 thanks to goals from Alexis Sanchez and Ander Herrera.

But Mourinho’s side would ultimately lose 1-0 in the final to Antonio Conte and Chelsea.

Next up for United in the Premier League, as they look to arrest their slump, is an away trip to Burnley.
