RB Leipzig winger Emil Forsberg has admitted he is flattered by reported interest from AS Roma but is solely focused on helping his current club for now.
Forsberg has scored 21 goals in 106 appearances since joining Leipzig from Swedish side Malmo FF in January 2015.
The 26-year-old, who appeared for Sweden at this summer’s World Cup finals in Russia, has previously been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Arsenal said to be among his suitors.
But German newspaper Bild recently claimed Roma are leading the race for Forsberg, who scored five goals in 27 games for Leipzig last season.
Forsberg has now revealed he is aware of Roma’s interest and is flattered by it.
“Roma want me? I’m flattered by the interest of the clubs who want me. I’m aware of it,” he told Bild. “For the moment, however, I’m only focused on Leipzig.”
Since making his debut for the Sweden national team in 2014, Forsberg has scored seven goals in 41 appearances for his country.
New Roma sporting director Monchi has already brought in 13 new recruits this summer, but there is a good chance the Italian club are still pursuing a winger after missing out on Malcom to Barcelona.
Roma begin their Serie A campaign with a trip to Torino on August 19th.
