Kasper Dolberg commits future to Ajax

Ajax forward Kasper Dolberg has ruled out a move away from the club this summer.

The 20-year-old Danish marksman is one of European football’s hottest properties following an incredible start to life in Amsterdam.

Consequently, he’s been linked with several clubs across the continent, but after struggling last season Dolberg – who represented Denmark at this summer’s World Cup – has reaffirmed his commitment to the record-Dutch champions.

“I want to stay at Ajax,” he told Voetbal International. “I want to perform here and let our supporters have fun. That’s the reason I don’t think about a transfer or something.

“Why should I? After last season, I don’t have any right to speak. My future is here, in Amsterdam.”

The rise of Dolberg

Dolberg joined Ajax from boyhood club Silkeborg in 2016 and was fast-tracked into the Amsterdam giants first team.

His debut campaign saw him bag 23 goals across 47 matches in all competitions including seven in the Europa League as Ajax reached the final only to lose to Manchester United.

It was difficult last time out as the Dane, who had to contend with injuries and loss of form, could only register nine goals in 30 appearances.
