Seven games in seven days: we’ve planned your next week of football using fuboTV

Once considered the working man’s game, football is now celebrated in all walks of life, gripping the globe every day as a cosmopolitan sport embraced worldwide.

Thankfully, this growing interest in football can now be matched by the hundreds of fixtures available, meaning some weeks not a day goes by when a match of top-level football is not being played. Today marks the start of one such seven-day spell, with the Champions League set to resume next Tuesday – and the guide below can help you take advantage.

fuboTV is a subscription-based streaming service with access to a series of TV channels, providing you with a broad spectrum of football content throughout the week, and bringing one of the world’s biggest sports straight to your screen.

To make the most of your free trial, we’ve picked out seven games you should be watching and (because we are Squawka, after all) some stats to prove it.

Friday 28th September

Bundesliga: Hertha Berlin vs. Bayern Munich

Local kick-off time: 20:30

US kick-off time: 14:30 Eastern, 11:30 Pacific

What better way to kick off your seven-day dose of football action than to sit back and watch German giants Bayern Munich lock horns with capital club Hertha Berlin on Friday night, quite fittingly a game that will be each team’s third Bundesliga fixture in the space of seven days.

The Bavarians are in typically formidable form, sitting top of the Bundesliga despite dropping points for the first time this season recently, while the Old Lady are in fourth, only three points behind Bayern, after an impressive start to the season by their own standards.

Must-watch stat: Hertha Berlin are the first club in Bundesliga history to concede a penalty in five consecutive matches – that stat could increase on Friday.

Saturday 29th September

Premier League: Chelsea vs. Liverpool

Local kick-off time: 17:30

US kick-off time: 12:30 Eastern, 09:30 Pacific

This mouth-watering clash is guaranteed to get pulses racing after Wednesday night’s enthralling Carabao Cup encounter at Anfield. Liverpool and Chelsea boast two of the most attacking play-styles in European football, and both have emerged as early contenders for the Premier League title – this match could prove decisive come the end of the season.

Must-watch stat: Eden Hazard has scored six goals against Liverpool across all competitions, more than against any other ‘big-six’ side.

Other eye-catching fixtures on this day: Juventus vs. Napoli, Real Madrid vs. Atletico Madrid

Sunday 30th September

Ligue 1: Lille vs. Marseille

Local kick-off time: 21:00
US kick-off time: 15:00 Eastern, 12:00 Pacific

Two of the great aristocrats in French football, Marseille and Lille have both made encouraging starts to the Ligue 1 season, sitting third and fourth respectively. Les Dogues are looking to bounce back from defeat against Bordeaux last time out, while Marseille will be seeking to build on their 3-2 victory over Strasbourg.

Must-watch stat: No player has created more chances (27) or provided more assists (four) than Dimitri Payet across Europe’s top five leagues.

Monday 1st October

Premier League: Bournemouth vs. Crystal Palace

Local kick-off time: 20:00
US kick-off time: 15:00 Eastern, 12:00 Pacific

Last season these two teams produced eight goals in two matches. The Eagles possess attacking potency in the form of incisive winger Wilfried Zaha, while Eddie Howe boasts an insatiable attacking trident of Callum Wilson, Josh King and Ryan Fraser; this match is guaranteed to produce goals, especially considering that in Bournemouth’s eight games so far this season, 29 goals have been scored overall.

Must-watch stat: Bournemouth’s front three (Wilson, King and Fraser) have collectively provided the same number of goals and assists (12) as Liverpool’s front three (Salah, Mane and Firmino) this season.

Tuesday 2nd October

Uefa Champions League: Hoffenheim vs. Manchester City

Local kick-off time: 18:55

US kick-off time: 12:55 Eastern, 09:55 Pacific

Man City made a woeful start to their European campaign, losing on home turf to Lyon last week, with manager Pep Guardiola only able to watch on from the stands as he served out his one-match touchline ban. The Catalan coach will return to the dug-out on Tuesday night against European debutants Hoffenheim, who played out a scintillating 2-2 draw with habitual Champions League outfit Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine.

Must-watch stat: Gabriel Jesus has netted a goal in each of his last three starts away from home for Manchester City in all competitions.

Other eye-catching fixtures on this day: Why not catch Man Utd vs. Valencia in the late Champions League kick-off (Local kick-off time: 20:00)?

Wednesday 3rd October

UEFA Champions League: Tottenham Hotspur vs. Barcelona

Local kick-off time: 20:00
US kick-off time: 15:00 Eastern, 12:00 Pacific

Spurs welcome perennial European contenders Barca to the hallowed Wembley turf on Wednesday night, and the Catalan giants will be hoping to produce a performance reminiscent of their last competitive visit to the appropriately dubbed ‘cathedral of football’ – the 2011 Champions League final victory against Man Utd. Spurs meanwhile will be looking to cause an upset in the capital when Messi and Co take to the pitch.

Must-watch stat: No player has scored more goals from outside the box (nine) than Philippe Coutinho in Europe’s top five leagues since the start of last season.

Other eye-catching fixtures on this day: Why not catch Paris Saint-Germain vs. Red Star Belgrade in the early Champions League kick-off (Local kick-off time: 18:55)?

Thursday 4th October

UEFA Europa League: AC Milan v Olympiacos

Tiemoue Bakayoko (AC Mailand, Milan 14) im Zweikampf mit Aniss El Hriti (F91 Duedelingen - 39) / 20.09.2018 Fussball Europa League, Gruppenphase, Saison 2018-2019 / 20.09.2018 / LUX, EL, F91 Düdelingen - AC Mailand (ITA) (Dudelange - Milano, Milan) / Stade Josy Barthel, Luxemburg / PUBLICATIONxNOTxINxLUX.

Local kick-off time: 18:55

US kick-off time: 12:55 Eastern, 09:55 Pacific

AC Milan will look to hold onto top spot in the Europa League Group F when they play the Greek Superleague table-toppers Olympiacos next Thursday.

I Rossoneri, who were knocked out of at the Round of 16 by Arsenal last season,  have drawn three straight games in Serie A. But even so, they boast enough young talents and rising stars to make this one of the more interesting fixtures in the upcoming Europa League gameweek.

Must-watch stat: AC Milan scored 13 goals in the Europa League group stage last season.
